The Seven Species recall the fruits of the land of Israel, a fitting motif for the piece that holds the afikoman until it is found and eaten at the meal's close. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has shaped Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Appliqued by hand in fabric, the cover layers cut pieces of colored cloth into the pomegranate, grape, and wheat design, with the lettering embroidered in gold thread. The cover measures 12 by 9 inches, sized to hold the folded matzah set aside during the Seder. Its cream background sets off the layered motifs across the front.

Gift Ideas

An appliqued afikoman cover makes a thoughtful Passover gift, especially for a household building its own set of holiday pieces. It also suits a wedding, housewarming, or engagement gift for anyone furnishing a Jewish home. Its detailed fabric work gives it lasting appeal well beyond the Seder season.

Care Instructions

Hand wash the cover gently in cool water, or wipe spills promptly with a damp cloth to protect the appliqued fabric.
